Important changes enhancing pensioner incomes are scheduled from June to August 2026. Alexey Govyirin, a Deputy of the State Duma and member of the Committee for Small and Medium Entrepreneurship, detailed these developments.
Schedule of Payments and Recalculations
June brings additional payments for those who qualified in May. Citizens turning 80 in May or receiving a Group I disability status will see their fixed pension payment double to 19 169,38 rubles, plus a care allowance of 1 413,86 rubles. Those receiving the care allowance for the first time will gain nearly 11,000 rubles. Importantly, this doubling is applied only once, even if multiple eligibility factors coincide.
A key positive update arrives in early August. The annual automatic pension recalculation specifically for employed pensioners will occur, based on their employers' insurance contributions for 2025. Govyirin underscored that undeclared work, however, will not yield any positive result from this recalculation.
Good News: Potential Inheritance of Pension Points
Another good news initiative is currently under discussion in the State Duma. Leonid Slutsky, leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), proposed allowing pension points from a deceased relative to be inherited. Experts are now evaluating the possibility of approving this beneficial proposal.
